The Ecclesia’s Stance on Defense

The Ecclesia’s Stance on Defense

The Ecclesia of Christ is committed to peace, righteousness, and the protection of human life. We believe defense is not rooted in fear or hostility, but in faithfulness, stewardship, and love for neighbor. Our position is grounded in Scripture and fully aligned with the United States Constitution and the laws of our state.

Spiritual Defense

We stand against spiritual darkness through prayer, Scripture, unity, and holiness. Our first calling is to defend the faith by walking in truth and resisting evil with the character of Christ.

Moral Defense

We uphold righteousness by protecting the vulnerable, honoring human dignity, and living as visible witnesses of Christ’s transforming power.

Legal and Civic Defense

We operate lawfully, transparently, and respectfully toward civil authorities. We steward our rights responsibly and reject any form of extremism or secrecy.

Relational Defense

We guard the unity of the Body by resolving conflict biblically, strengthening families, and honoring one another. A united church is a defended church.

Physical Defense

We affirm that protecting innocent life is a moral responsibility.
If a church, synagogue, or any house of worship faces an unlawful attack or violent threat, we affirm the lawful right—under the Constitution and state law—to responsibly defend life.

We also affirm that it is our duty to protect the weak and vulnerable when they face imminent harm.
This defense must always be:

  • lawful
  • proportional
  • responsible
  • rooted in love for neighbor

We reject vigilantism, provocation, intimidation, or any posture that undermines public trust.

Generational Defense

We defend the future by discipling our children, strengthening families, and preserving the testimony of Christ for generations to come.

Our Commitment

We will defend:

  • the Gospel
  • the dignity of every believer
  • the weak and vulnerable
  • the unity of the Body
  • the peace of our communities
  • the lives entrusted to our care

All in a manner worthy of Christ and in harmony with the laws of our nation and our state.
